I got a new planner!!!
I decided it was time for a change. I just had too much I needed to do with uni and blogging. So I came up with the perfect solution – a Traveler’s notebook. I was seeing Traveler’s Notebooks everywhere and it seemed everyone had one but me. And I couldn’t be having that.
What first attracted me to the Traveler’s Notebook was the ability to be creative and make the planner unique to you. Just like my last planner this is something I enjoy. Also, having used a Happy Planner for my first 2 years of planning, I could see the links between the Happy Planner and a Traveler’s Notebook just on a smaller scale! This was perfect for me as that is the reason I left the Happy Planner in the end because it was just too big!
Before purchasing my new TN, I had a little look online to see what was about and to get to grips with comes with having this particular planner. I watched endless Youtube videos (always a good place to start) and looked at some spreads on Instagram. After all of that, I had an few things in mind as to what I wanted from my new planner. I found Foxy Fix was a popular choice but being a newbie I wanted something more affordable. I knew I wanted four elastics. Also being UK based was important to me. And it had to be pink.
When I came across Maisey Rose Co on Etsy, I couldn’t be happier. I loved how each individual can customise the planner so their needs and wants. She offers soooo many options. For example, you are able to add a reinforced spine; choice of inside left and right pockets; colour of elastic and thread colour.
From her Instagram, I could see her listing a new pink croc leather and it had my name all over it! So I put in my first order with Maisey Rose Co.
After about a month (to be expected being a made to order item)… my planner arrived! And it was everything I was expecting and more. The colour is perfect and exactly what I wanted. The leather is so soft and supple. Overall, the planner is beautiful and very well made.
I went with the B6 croc leather with 4 elastics; a pink elastic; the reinforced spine; secretarial left pocket and a full length straight right pocket.
One thing I have noticed is that it the colour seems to change under different lights. Sometimes it’s more pink than others. I think that’s due to the leather having a slight shimmer which I’m not mad at.
I’m happy I decided to go with a smaller shop rather than say Foxy Fix as I can see how much hard work has gone into making this TN. Also, I’m so glad I got the reinforced spine, it makes the cover strong and able to stand up. I couldn’t imagine it not being there. As well, it allows me to bulk the planner and add more inserts. Which makes me excited. I love a thick planner.
I see this planner as a chance to do things differently. Starting a new academic year. Starting a blog. This was the perfect time for a fresh start. I’m pleased I took that extra bit of time doing my research as I now have a planner that suits all my needs. I’m currently in the process of setting up my Traveler’s Notebook and I’m having so much fun making it my own!
